Details impacting this weekends games 

Diamond 1 is unavailable due to ongoing turf damage.  The playing surface is not safe and it is unable to host games.  Urgent turf replacement work has been commissioned and will commence immediately.  All other Diamonds remain available.

Mens Division 1 games on Friday night are now cancelled.  We will consult with the impacted clubs and teams to consider alternative fixturing arrangements or apply "wash out" results.

All Saturday games scheduled for Diamond 1 have been moved to other Diamonds.  Only the Division 3 Men game between Royals and Ravens has required a time change. These clubs will be consulted to ensure that teams can accommodate the time change, if this isn't suitable and alternative fixturing can't be quickly agreed - "wash out" results will apply.

It is expected that Diamond 1 will be available for the following round, though some games will be moved from this Diamond for future fixtures.  See more below.

Future for Diamond 1 & 2

Diamond 1 and Diamond 2 have the highest game load of all Diamonds.  These Diamonds regularly host upwards of 9 games of softball over the course of a round.  In comparision, the other Diamonds have no more than 3 games played.  This game load is unsustainable for our premier Diamonds and we will need to balance our competitions across our grounds.  

RCDSA will look to reduce the game load on our front Diamonds for all future fixtures.  The priority for our premier Diamonds will continue to be for our Division 1 and 2 competitions.  All other Competitions will be moved to balance playing loads across our wonderful grounds.  The exception will be where games are scheduled on or after 7pm where lights are required.

We apologise for any inconvenience and disruption this may cause our members.  Player safety is our highest priority.  We will continue to work with Rockingham City Council to improve our grounds and their management.
